Because of You!

Because of you,
I have laughed
a little harder,
cried a little less,
and smiled a lot
for no special reason

Because of you,
I felt the warmth
of a special relationship
and the gift of your love.

Because of you,
my world is a
happier place

Because you are
always there for me..
to encourage me,
to tell me that you care

Because of the way
you make me feel...
by knowing the
right words to say,
and when to say them.

Because of these reasons,
and so many more,
I love You,
And always will.

Thank you... for you,
my world is a happier place!

Jai Maata Di!!

Yes so I finally did it. My long awaited & once aborted wishes of going to vaishno devi was fulfilled on 28Sep-1Oct 2007 visit. The experience was awesome although with few glitches. To begin with my train got delayed by 5hrs & had to spend the night with kids in tow on the platform. We reached Jammu next afternoon by around 1pm. Anyhow after arranging the needful VIP coupons to visit vaishno devi....we headed to katra in qualis. The twisted drive up on the mountain made my daughter sick & she kept puking all the driveway. All this strengthen my resolution of visiting Ma Vaishno devi as I took it this ways- "Ma is testing my devotion towards her :)" Finally we landed in to the hotel we booked. After freshning up, we had our dinner. Soon we headed to a steep climb of the mountains. Initial walk with some luggage in tow & of course the kids made us decide to hire a pony as it will be impossible to manage everything. Sensibly we did the same & by 1:00Am in the night reached Ardh Kuwaari. Ardh Kuwaari, it is said is the journey of the devotees wherein his past karma is washed off & then the cleansed devotee shud head towards vaishno devi temple. It was challenging task to go thru ardh kuwaari cave as many devotees were returning back saying they don't have courage to pass through. As usual it strengthened my decision of passing thru it. All this was made simple by my kids shouting Jai Maata Di & devotees joining in the chanting together. I dit it :). From there on we headed to vaishno devi temple & again we joined the long winding que of devotees to have a glimpse of the pind.

Wow! the overall experience was overwhelming & I really appreciate the strength of frequent visitors to this place as its not a miniscule task to do the trek & not to mention the amount of patience that one has to have to get the glimpse of each milestones. JAI MAATA DI!!!

Child's Play!

Ok so it's not a child play to bring up a child!!!

Especially when you are also as stubborn as your child...things becomes unmanageable & it become whole issue of ego-fights!
Here I am trying to make sense with current educational system where they are expecting my 6yr old child to become an adult overnight by throwing in heavy english jargons to learn by heart..sigh! To top it I am expecting it very soon from my toddler to behave like a responsible adult who carries out all the task given at the school without me reminding her nth times to do it. Ok now I promise myself everyday to not to burden my poor child with daily dose of Gyaan to be responsible in her approach to studies...nor will I bring her out so soon from her happy childhood phase by burdening her with societal pressures. But it all goes fizzzz.... when she present me with her weekly CCE schedule where her performance in each subject will be assessed. Not only that She also has to be prepare herself to narrate story in class competitions, participate in sports & dribble ball for longest in basket ball to win....and do well too for my sake. To keep my sanity intact I'm heavily drowning myself in magazines & books like 'Parenting', 'How to Discipline With Love'...& if nothing else every visit to bookstore becomes traumatic for me with My hubby teasingly passing me books on parenting....@@#$#!

Mumbai Calling!

I never had this fanaticism of being a Mumbaite, so much so as its in present time. Reason? My product manager Mrs Uma Iyer. The day she joined my organisation I was shaken up from my slumber and reminded me of my patrioticism for Amchi Mumbai, she being from there. Never in my schooling days or in colleges & for that matter of fact, in any of my organisation that I worked in Mumbai did I open my mouth to speak in Marathi (It being second language to be learned at schools in Mumbai). Now we speaks mostly in Marathi (although its stammering hard for me) & it seems I would be pro in that language very soon. Thanks to Uma Iyer! Now people around us thinks that we are bitching against them whenever we rattle off in Marathi. Its real fun!

What's a beautiful mind means?

I am reading this book called "How to have a beautiful mind" by Edward de bono. It begins with analogy between a beautiful women with a glass doll-like appearance but still people around her disappears like a smoke. On the other hand there is a mousy looking man who's surrounded by people. Why such contrast? Why is the beautiful women inspite of being beautiful not surrounded by people? What its trying to say is that one can acheive outer beauty with host of new technologies coming in markets like cosmetic surgery et al. But to acheive a beautiful mind is much more important and this can be done with little practice and following some rules. I have to still read those rules though.....:)

No matter how you look, if you have a mind that's fascinating, creative, exciting -- if you're a good thinker -- you can be beautiful. And it doesn't necessarily come from being highly educated, or even from having a great personality; it's about using your imagination and expanding your creativity.

Cab Woes!

Mercury is rising in delhi with temperature touching 46 degrees. In this hot weather traveling in Non-A/c cab is a torture. Ask me, I'm going through that torture...if not for my lively cab mates I would have quit it long before. Talking about cab mates reminds me how wonderful this otherwise painful journey of commuting from home to office and back becomes. Thankfully I'm not sitting with such callous attitude people who won't even bother to look at you when you enter the cab, forget about adjusting to accomodate you. I believe you attract like minded people and surroundings around you :) Each day comes with its own challenges and happiness. Everyone in the cab is like a family...sharing and advising each other how to sail through the problems...be it professional or personal. The best part is the unity that we share amongst each other & it teaches you how important it is to stay UNITED no matter what challenges you face as unity alone sails you smoothly through all of them.

Hey thats me screaming on the top of the roof tops. Maybe with the hope that it would reduce some of my anxiety of not able to plan for a vacation which I need desperately. With everyone around you planning for one...its but natural that my vagabond soul crave for one too!!

My dream vacation will be a surprise vacation. One colleague asked me what do I mean by a surprise vacation? Well here goes the explanation...A surprise vacation is the one wherein it comes out of the blue when I need it the most & of course it should be arranged by so called my well wisher/3rd party :). heheheheheh... isn't that what we all crave for....A Paid Holiday!!!!!
